Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Pro, Galaxy Watch 6 May have larger batteries
After the Galax Watch 5 series released last year, South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is now said to be working on the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series of smartwatches. A new report has now claimed that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series will feature larger batteries than its predecessors.
According to a GSMArena report, both the Galaxy Watch 6 40mm and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 42mm are expected to pack a 300mAh battery. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 44mm and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 46mm can contain a 425 mAh battery.
According to the report, both capacitors are larger than the Galaxy Watch 5’s battery, which only offers 284mAh for the 40mm size and 410mAh for the 44mm version.
The South Korean tech giant is also said to be bringing back the rotating bezel this year, indicating that it would happen on the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro. Samsung’s previous Galaxy Watch Active series has already used this type of design.
According to the report, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series will be announced in August this year, along with the company’s next-generation foldables.
In terms of pricing, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Pro is likely to have the same price as its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Similarly, the Galaxy Watch 6, which will come in two sizes, is expected to stay at the same price as its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 5.
Samsung has yet to reveal any other details about the upcoming smartwatch series. However, Samsung recently filed a patent that will help the company integrate a projector into a smartwatch.
It was also reported that Samsung was working on a Galaxy Watch that will be equipped with a built-in projector. Recently, Samsung added advanced temperature-based menstrual cycle tracking features to the Galaxy Watch 5 series. Samsung partnered with Natural Cycles for this integration, which is currently available in the US and Korea.
